Core i5-12400F with RX 7900 XT: Bottleneck & FPS

The Core i5-12400F and RX 7900 XT are an excellent match at 1440p: about 106 FPS on average in AAA games at High settings, with 1% lows around 80 FPS. At 1080p the Core i5-12400F becomes the limit (25% CPU bottleneck at 1080p); from 1440p upward the RX 7900 XT takes over and the CPU has capacity to spare. In esports titles such as CS2 or Valorant expect around 301 FPS, enough for a 240 Hz monitor, while CPU-heavy games like Microsoft Flight Simulator drop to about 66 FPS with a 53% CPU bottleneck. Ray tracing costs this AMD card more than an equivalent NVIDIA GPU: about 46 FPS with RT on at 1440p.
