Core i7-12700K with RTX 4070: Bottleneck & FPS

Paired with the RTX 4070, the Core i7-12700K delivers roughly 83 FPS at 1440p (1% lows ≈65) in modern AAA games, which our model rates as “heavily GPU-limited”. The RTX 4070 is the limiting part at every resolution, so the 12-core Core i7-12700K (LGA1700) still has headroom for about 132 FPS and room for a faster card later. In esports titles such as CS2 or Valorant expect around 263 FPS, enough for a 240 Hz monitor, while CPU-heavy games like Microsoft Flight Simulator drop to about 72 FPS with a 31% CPU bottleneck. With ray tracing enabled, expect about 48 FPS at 1440p, so turn on DLSS or FSR to get back above 60.
