Ryzen 7 7700X with RTX 5080: Bottleneck & FPS

The Ryzen 7 7700X and RTX 5080 leave the CPU with plenty of spare headroom at 4K: about 85 FPS on average in AAA games at High settings, with 1% lows around 67 FPS. At 1080p the Ryzen 7 7700X becomes the limit (29% CPU bottleneck at 1080p); from 1440p upward the RTX 5080 takes over and the CPU has capacity to spare. In esports titles such as CS2 or Valorant expect around 271 FPS, enough for a 240 Hz monitor, while CPU-heavy games like Microsoft Flight Simulator drop to about 78 FPS with a 26% CPU bottleneck. With ray tracing enabled, expect about 50 FPS at 4K, so turn on DLSS or FSR to get back above 60.
